Adding a power cell gives amplifiers a nearby source of 12V current to draw on during peaks, which can help steady voltage when bass notes hit hard. Low internal resistance lets the cell deliver current quickly, so it suits systems that see sharp, repeated bass peaks rather than steady loads alone.

Sealed AGM construction

The SK-BT120 uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) sealed lead-acid construction. Because it is sealed and non-spill, it can be mounted in any position, which gives you more freedom when choosing a location in the vehicle. Shuriken builds it with virgin lead plates, and it is designed to be discharged and recharged hundreds of times.

The cell measures 13 x 8.5 x 6.75 in (W x H x D) and weighs 79 lb, and it connects through M8 threaded terminal posts. Shuriken offers a matching powder-coated steel battery box, the SK-BT120-BX, sold separately, to hold the cell in place and help shield it from heat.
