The Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X463C is a pair of 4×6-inch 2-way custom fit car speakers. Diamond Array Pattern cone
The KFC-X463C woofer uses a carbon-polypropylene hybrid cone with Kenwood’s Diamond Array Pattern, the textured surface you can see in the photos. The 4 x 6-inch (95 x 153 mm) injection-molded polypropylene cone has a rubber surround, a black steel basket and a ferrite magnet.
PEI balanced dome tweeter
A 1-inch (25 mm) PEI balanced dome tweeter is mounted at the center of each woofer and handles the high frequencies, making each speaker a complete 2-way unit for a 4×6-inch opening. Kenwood calls the KFC-X463C a custom fit speaker system.
Power and fit
Each speaker handles 30 watts RMS and 100 watts peak at a nominal 3 ohms. Sensitivity is 86 dB at 1 watt/1 meter, and frequency response runs from 80 Hz to 21 kHz. Without the grille, each speaker measures 6-1/4 inches (158 mm) wide, 4 inches (102 mm) high and 2-5/16 inches (59.2 mm) deep, and the mounting depth is 1-15/16 inches (50 mm).
Before you install
Measure the opening and the space behind it in your vehicle. The KFC-X463C needs at least 1-15/16 inches of clear depth behind the mounting surface, its frame measures 6-1/4 x 4 inches without the grille, and the overall depth is 2-5/16 inches. Kenwood does not publish an accessory list for this model, so grilles and mounting hardware are not listed here.
