Overview
The Kenwood CMOS-740HDLP packages the CMOS-740HD high-definition camera with a license-plate mount. It outputs 1280 x 720 HD-TVI video for compatible Kenwood HD camera-input receivers, adds HDR for mixed lighting, and is rated IP67. Wide 180-degree horizontal and 103-degree vertical views cover front or rear installs on cars and trucks. It will not work on receivers that only have a standard composite camera input.

HD-TVI for Kenwood HD screens
The CMOS-740HD camera at the heart of this kit sends 1280 x 720 video over HD-TVI on an analog RCA path so compatible Kenwood HD receivers can show a high-definition front or rear view. Built-in HDR helps in dark or bright scenes where a standard camera would wash out. Kenwood notes the camera is only for receivers with an HD camera input and will not deliver HD on older composite-only inputs.
Wide view and IP67
The wide-angle lens (1.86 mm, F2.0) covers about 180 degrees horizontally and 103 degrees vertically for a broad look at the bumper line. Kenwood rates the camera IP67 for dust and water, with illumination down to about 1 lux for night parking. You can mount it for front or rear use with reverse-line switching when it is used as a backup camera.
Plate-mount package
CMOS-740HDLP includes Kenwood’s license-plate mount hardware shown in the KWU pack photos, so you can place the camera on a plate without buying a separate bracket. Operating voltage is 12 V (12-24 V allowable). Camera and cable dimensions follow the CMOS-740HD specification sheet, including about 9 meters of total cable length on the Kenwood European specification sheet.
