Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

The DMX809S connects to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly over dual-band Wi-Fi, or with a USB cable when you want to charge at the same time. For Android phones, Kenwood’s mirroring app shows your phone screen on the 6.8-inch display over USB and Bluetooth. Bluetooth 5.0 handles hands-free calls and audio streaming with SBC and AAC, supports two phones at once and lets up to five devices share music with Music Mix. An HDMI Type-D input accepts a compatible source with the KCA-HD200 cable, sold separately.

Radio, media and sound

A built-in HD Radio tuner receives digital FM and AM stations where available, and the receiver is SiriusXM Ready for a tuner and subscription sold separately. The rear USB Type-A port charges at up to 1.5 amps and plays FLAC and WAV files up to 192 kHz/24-bit through a 24-bit DAC, plus MP3, WMA and AAC audio and MPEG, H.264, WMV and MKV video. The 13-band EQ, digital time alignment, Drive EQ and high-pass and low-pass filters with a 3-way speaker network let you tune the sound for your car.

Cameras, preouts and vehicle integration

Three camera inputs leave room for a backup camera with guidelines plus front or side cameras. Three 5-volt preouts send a strong signal to front, rear and subwoofer amplifiers, and the built-in amplifier is rated at 50 watts x 4 maximum and 22 watts x 4 full bandwidth. With an iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 module, sold separately, the DMX809S can keep steering wheel controls, factory amplifiers and secondary displays and show vehicle information. The short chassis is 2-15/16 inches (75 mm) deep.

• A vehicle-specific dash kit, wiring harness adapter and antenna adapter may be needed for your vehicle and are not included.
• Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto need a compatible phone. Android mirroring works with the Kenwood mirroring app over USB and Bluetooth.
• The iDatalink Maestro module, SiriusXM tuner and subscription, cameras, KCA-HD200 HDMI cable and KCA-RCDV340 remote are sold separately.
• This is a mechless digital multimedia receiver. It does not play CDs or DVDs.
• The screen measures 6.75 inches diagonally and is marketed by Kenwood as 6.8 inches.
