Compact Punch P2 for tight installs
P2D2-8 brings Punch P2 construction into an 8-inch dual 2-ohm package for systems that need bass without a large cutout. Continuous power handling is 250 W RMS / 500 W max (CEA-2031). Dual 2-ohm voice coils wire to 1-ohm or 4-ohm at the amp. Sensitivity is 83 dB (1 W/1 m). Xmax is 7.8 mm.
Cone, motor, and basket
A Kevlar-fiber-reinforced paper cone pairs with VAST (Vertical Attach Surround Technique) for more radiating area than a conventional surround. The high-temp voice coil uses a spun-laced Nomex reinforcement collar. Dual linear spiders with embedded 16 AWG tinsel leads, an extended pole piece, and a bumped vented backplate manage heat and excursion. StampCast basket construction includes integrated spider venting and FlexFit mounting slots.
Fit and enclosure
Mounting depth is 4.76 inches (120.8 mm) with a 7.13-inch (181 mm) cutout—shallow enough for many compact sealed boxes. Suggested sealed volume is 0.23 cu. ft. (6.5 L) and vented at 0.65 cu. ft. (18.4 L). Custom 10-AWG compression terminals accept large wire. The diamond-cut cast aluminum trim ring is included and accepts the optional P2P3G-8 grille insert (sold separately).
