Oversized cone, standard cutout
The XR-W1204 uses an oversized diaphragm, so the cone is larger than a typical 12-inch sub while the cutout stays at 11 inches. Kenwood says this makes it ideal for a small sealed box. The gray polypropylene cone has reinforcing ribs that add strength and help reduce distortion, and it rides on a rubber surround in a steel basket.
Motor and cooling
A strong magnetic circuit uses a large magnet assembly of two ferrite magnets and an optimized yoke to reproduce deep bass. A stress-free damper and Kenwood’s thermal efficient system improve mechanical and thermal durability, and a dual ventilation system helps manage heat.
