The Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XP6903C is a 6×9-inch plus 3-1/2-inch component speaker system. A shallow polypropylene 6×9 woofer pairs with a 3-1/2-inch 2-way mid-high speaker that uses a silk balanced-dome tweeter. The system handles 100 watts RMS and 300 watts peak at 4 ohms, with 84 dB sensitivity and a 45 Hz to 23 kHz response. A 6×9 multi-use bracket is included for select Chrysler, Dodge and Toyota vehicles.

Kenwood built the eXcelon KFC-XP6903C as a vehicle-specific component package: a shallow 6×9-inch polypropylene woofer for the door and a 3-1/2-inch 2-way mid-high speaker for the dash. Kenwood lists custom fit for select Chrysler, Dodge and Toyota vehicles, and includes a 6×9 multi-use bracket.
Silk balanced-dome tweeter and Sound Field Enhancer
The mid-high unit carries a 1-inch silk balanced-dome tweeter. Kenwood’s Sound Field Enhancer shape widens the sound field and controls interference through the 3-1/2-inch speakers. An in-line network crosses over at 850 Hz with a -6 dB/octave slope (woofer LPF bypass selectable).
Power and response
The system handles 100 watts RMS (CTA) and 300 watts peak at 4 ohms. Sensitivity is 84 dB at 1 watt/1 meter (CTA), and frequency response runs from 45 Hz to 23 kHz (CTA). The woofer magnet weighs 410 g (14.5 oz), and the tweeter uses a neodymium magnet.
Fit
Each 6×9 woofer needs an 8-9/16 x 5-11/16-inch cutout and 2-3/4 inches of mounting depth. Each 3-1/2-inch mid-high needs a 3-inch cutout and 1-7/16 inches of mounting depth. The package also includes spacers, in-line networks, speaker cords and mounting hardware for both the woofer and the mid-high. Before you install, check those openings and depths against the locations in your vehicle.
