Motorcycle 6×9 coaxials
The XM69R is a 6×9-inch 2-way coaxial speaker from Kenwood’s eXcelon Motorsports line. Each speaker uses an IMPP woofer cone and a 1-inch PEI dome tweeter. Kenwood describes a sealed design that will not allow water to pass through the speaker, and silicon gaskets are included for lid installs. The speakers are intended for rear saddlebag locations, not as a generic car 6×9 drop-in.

Kenwood rates the XM69R at 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak at 2 ohms. Sensitivity is 94 dB, and frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 25 kHz. Mounting depth is 2.952 inches. Because these are 2-ohm speakers, Kenwood’s manual says they can damage a radio that is not 2-ohm stable if you wire them straight to that radio’s built-in power — use an amplifier that is stable at 2 ohms.
Lid fitment
Kenwood designs the XM69R for use with the CA-CUT14 cut-in lid kit (2014-current bikes), CA-LID98 lids (1998-2013 bikes), and other brands of 6×9-inch lids for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The CA-CUT14 and CA-LID98 kits are sold separately. The magnets are strong, so keep credit cards and electronics clear when packing saddlebags.
