Overview
The Kenwood DMX5710S is a double-DIN digital multimedia receiver with a 6.8-inch WSVGA capacitive touchscreen. It runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly or over USB, and can mirror select iPhone and Android phones wirelessly with MirrorAPP+. Built-in Bluetooth, a 13-band EQ with time alignment, a rear camera input, two 2.5-volt preouts plus a subwoofer output and iDatalink Maestro compatibility make it a flexible upgrade. It is a mechless unit, so it does not play discs.

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
The DMX5710S supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both wirelessly and over a USB cable, so maps, calls, messages and music apps appear on the 6.8-inch screen without plugging in for every trip. Wireless connections use built-in 5 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11a/n/ac). With the MirrorAPP+ app, select iPhone and Android phones can also mirror their screen wirelessly. Bluetooth 5.0 handles hands-free calling and audio streaming, and an external Bluetooth microphone comes in the box.
Screen, media and sound tuning
The 6.8-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) capacitive touch panel uses LED backlighting. The USB connection charges a compatible phone at up to 2.1 amps and plays MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC and OGG audio files, plus MPEG, H.264, MKV and WMV video, through a 24-bit DAC. A 13-band graphic EQ and digital time alignment let you tune the sound to your vehicle, and the high-pass and low-pass filters adjust from 30 to 250 Hz with slopes up to 24 dB per octave.
Ready to grow with your system
Two 2.5-volt preouts and a subwoofer output make it simple to add amplifiers, and the rear camera input supports a backup camera with adjustable parking guidelines. The receiver is iDatalink Maestro Ready: with a Maestro RR or RR2 module, sold separately, Kenwood says you can retain factory steering wheel controls, a factory amplifier and secondary displays, and view vehicle information on compatible vehicles. It is also SiriusXM Ready (tuner sold separately) and works with the optional KCA-RCDV340 remote.
Installation
The short-chassis main unit measures 7 x 3-15/16 x 3-3/8 inches (178 x 100 x 85.7 mm) and weighs 2.31 lb. It fits a double-DIN opening, and Kenwood’s manual also explains a single-DIN install by removing the side brackets. A wiring harness, GPS antenna, Bluetooth microphone, parking extension cable and mounting screws are included; a vehicle-specific dash kit and harness adapter are not.
