The P-XW1241S ships with one KFC-XW1241 12-inch subwoofer already mounted. The driver uses an injection-polypropylene X-motif cone with a diamond-array pattern and a urethane surround in a steel basket. A closed yoke with advanced airflow control and an aluminum bobbin help manage heat while the stress-controlled spider supports the moving assembly.
Enclosure design
Kenwood builds the box from 5/8-inch MDF with a 3/4-inch MDF baffle, a slant-back shape and a flared port. Nickel-plated spring posts accept up to 8 AWG wire, and a steel mesh grille is attached. The enclosure can be installed front-firing, rear-firing or down-firing. Outside dimensions are 20-7/8 inches wide by 15-13/16 inches high by 14-5/8 inches deep, and gross weight is 37.7 pounds.
